A while ago I asked you about what you thought of those who believe in God and you told me you understand because of fear of the unknown, death, etc. Respectfully, I want to say that I believe not out of fear. I have spent a lot of time realizing that I could be wrong. That nothing happens when we die. So I acknowledge that possibility. I just hope you don't think all faith comes out of fear. I also want you to know that I believe everyone has the freedom to believe or not believe. No judgment.

you’re definitely right. i left out a lot of reasons why people believe in a higher power, so i apologize. i know that fear is a powerful motivator, so i based many of the reasons why i think people believe on fear, but there are tons of other reasons that i left out. please forgive me  :]

i am only human, so i make mistakes. i have firmly-rooted beliefs, so i try and respect those who choose to think differently than me, but i’m not always very good at that. i’m learning though. i’m trying to make less mistakes and be more respectful when discussing the religion of others, and i ALWAYS appreciate feedback on how well i am or am not doing that.

thank you for this discussion we’re having! it’s made me think critically and helped me analyze my atheism. if you or anyone else wants to talk about anything, i’m free!  :]
