I think some of you college students are familiar with these, so here’s a reminder on how much you really need to study.

French: cumulative, better work my derriere off

Women’s & Gender Studies: easy, but i missed a few classes, so…. shit

International Studies: need to study, but it’s on cultural globalization so that’s easy-ish

Human Rights: need to study, study, study!

Heroes and Warrior Women: only a presentation on LOTR…. sweet

we were required to read and take notes on key events, people, and the three waves of feminism in these articles:

1. Living the Legacy: The Woman’s Rights Movement 1848-1998 [can’t link to this because it’s through Moodle]
2. Bitch Media: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Feminism But Were Afraid to Ask

i have to admit that i’m really fucking nervous for this discussion. when we had classes focusing on different religions and mythology as they relate to heroism, there were many people in the class who could’t resist making jokes here and there. if they were willing to display their ignorance and immaturity with other topics, what’s going to stop them from lashing out on feminism? what if they point and laugh?

feminism is so dear to my heart, and i just want to clutch it close to my breast and protect it from the mean people who don’t understand [or want to understand] what it’s all about.
